Patsy's Christmas Party

Saturday night I went to Pasty's annual Christmas party. That's Patsy in the red in the photo to the right with Jocelyn. As is tradition the focal point of Patsy's Christmas decorating is her tree which is packed solid with ornaments and tinsel. Smaller trees could also be found throughout the living room, dining room and kitchen. She always spends a lot of time decorating. I must admit my tree is up with lights, but has yet to see an ornament this year. Right now I'm content to just have the lights.

To the left is all of the wonderful food I didn't eat. I stayed "in the box" as they like to say at Healthy Solutions For Life and focused my attention on all of the very fun people at the party.

Susan was all smiles enjoying her official retirement from her State Farm Agency. Her retirement reception was Friday. She will now spend her time on a wonderful farm near Valley Falls. She is very talented and plans to spend some of her time exploring her creative side.

The Taylor's were there visiting with Cleta (to the left). I ran into James at Target earlier in the day. He told me about their newest project which involves working to pack The Fox Theatre for the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" with Al Gore. He and his wife Betty do a lot of wonderful work in the community with Dillon Nature Center, the zoo, Carey Park and more. They share a passion for the environment and horticulture and work to convey their knowledge to others. I've learned a lot from them over the years. I always enjoy visiting with Cleta. She volunteers for The Volunteer Center. She's also a good democrat.

Austin and Diana took time to pose with the Lope. You can check out his blog at http://thelope.blogspot.com
The Lope is quite a charmer and it is always a treat to run into him.

Mike was there (photo to the right). He works for Farm Services and often has interesting stories to tell about his encounters with wildlife while measuring ground in rural Reno County.

I spent the evening visiting and laughing with some very fun people. I always appreciate Patsy's ability to bring people together.
